For a Freemason to progress from one degree to another he must prove that he is proficient in the degree that he currently has. He does this by memorizing certain teachings and repeating them back to the members of his Lodge.
However, in the State of Mississippi once a man receives his Master Mason degree he is not required to complete a Master Mason Proficiency.
Here at Longstreet Lodge No. 268 we have always encouraged brethren to continue their learning and earn their proficiency whether it is required or not. That has resulted in our lodge having the largest amount of Master Masons who have earned their proficiency.
Brother Terry Lewis has now earned his, making his certification the 32nd on our Wall of Proficiency.
Congratulations, Brother Lewis!
